Harlequins Women has announced that Ellie Boatman has joined the Club ahead of the 2022/23 Allianz Premier 15s campaign.

The winger who was recently named in the 2021/22 Team of the Season, joins Harlequins after having a standout campaign last time out for Wasps Women. The 25-year-old speedster scored an incredible 18 tries throughout the 21/22 campaign, including a score at Big Game 13 in front of a world record 9,000 fans.

Boatman has also represented England 7s throughout 2022, traveling around the continent competing in Rugby Europe’s biggest tournaments and is soon set to compete at the Commonwealth Games later this month in Birmingham.

After joining Wasps in the Summer of 2020, Boatman featured for fellow London clubs Saracens and Richmond, but is now looking forward to a new chapter in her career in South West London.

Boatman said: “I’m really excited to be joining Harlequins Women this season, the Club has been so successful with promoting the women’s game and I believe it is an exciting time to be joining the Club. I’m looking forward to being surrounded by a really talented group of players and coaches and developing my game further.”

Harlequins Women Head Coach Amy Turner said: “We’re delighted that Ellie has joined Quins ahead of the upcoming campaign. She has electric pace and is a massive threat to any defence in the league and fits the Quins DNA, suiting the way we want to play. Ellie had an outstanding season last time out and we are all excited to see her run out in the Famous Quarters very soon!”
