Vertu Motors, the Gateshead-based motor retail brand, has announced former England player Karen Carney as their first ever football ambassador.
Carney, who won 144 caps for England and enjoyed an illustrious career at the top of the women’s game, is now a highly regarded pundit working across Sky Sports and BBC television and radio covering the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, WSL and international competitions.
In the last 12 months, Vertu Motors have announced a number of prominent partnerships in football, with the Professional Footballers Association, Sunderland AFC and Middlesbrough AFC.
Karen said: “I am delighted to be able to partner with Vertu Motors. They are a forward thinking brand who want to make a difference to football fans and their communities. I look forward to working with them on some exciting projects in the next 12 months.”
Carney will support various activity around the brand’s football partnerships, including the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month awards, while also working with Vertu Motors internally and on a number of corporate events.
As well as football partnerships, the Vertu Motors retail brand holds deals with other sports rights holders including Newcastle Eagles basketball team, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, Durham County Cricket Club and Yorkshire County Cricket Club, and have another ambassador partnership with England cricket legend Darren Gough.
