The final round of the Allianz Cup will take place this Saturday where Wasps Women welcome Gloucester Hartpury to Twyford Avenue.
After last week’s victory on the road to DMP Durham Sharks, the team are refuelled and ready to strike again on home soil. Acting Head Coach RIchard Birkett has named nine changes to the starting line up from last weekend including 7 personnel and 2 positional.
Only one change to the starting front row with two of last week’s try scorers Elizabeth Crake and Cliodhna Moloney remaining and Stevie Farrow joining from the bench. One final change to the pack with the return of Harriet Millar-Mills returning to no.8.
Lots of changes to the back line starting with the return of Lucy Nye from RAF duty to the nine shirt. Meg Jones and Ellie Boatman have returned from Sevens duty to take their place at 10 and 14 with Sammy Wong moving out to the opposite wing. Lizzie Goulden pushes back to full back and Claire Molloy has a change of scenery and joins the backs in the centre alongside Shannon Touhey.
On the bench, Daniker Wilmore also joins us after last week’s run out for the RAF as front row replacement alongside Mica Evans who makes her return from injury. Suzie Flowers and Alex Wilkinson complete the match day squad.
This weekend also marks a special occasion for the Wasps Family. Fiona Stockley, a long standing member will be celebrating her final game in an official capacity with Wasps Women. Fiona is an integral part of the Wasps family who has taken on many roles – a player, a manager, a match day official to name a few. Her presence in the match day operations will be sorely missed but we have no doubt we will see her on the sidelines supporting the black and gold!
