As Harlequins Women return to action for the first time since January 2019 in the newly re-branded Allianz Premier 15s, new Head Coach Gerard Mullen has named his first ever match day 23.
Mullen hands debuts to England international Lagi Tuima at outside centre and former England Sevens star Beth Wilcock from the bench in the 23 jersey, with a pack and backline filled with internationals and some of the best talent in the women’s game.
Commenting ahead of his first Harlequins Women’s game, Mullen said: “It’s fantastic to name our first team of the season as we face DMP Durham Sharks tomorrow.
The effort and dedication the players have shown in training since we returned over the summer has been fantastic, and we’re thrilled to be able to name such a competitive side to open the season.
“We’re determined to take our game as both individuals and as a team to the next level in all areas, with an increasingly aggressive defence paired with our ambition to play the fastest brand of rugby in the league. I’m sure there will be an element of rustiness while we settle back into playing, but I’m truly excited to see how far this team can go. I believe there is huge potential here.”
