Harlequins Development team -MATCH POSTPONED

  • +1

Harlequins Women Lead Development Coach Mark Cadogan has named the squad to travel to Shaftesbury Park, Bristol, on Saturday.

Quins head to the West Country having narrowly lost to Loughborough Lightning in the last round of Development League action, coming away with a 17-14 loss having conceded a last-minute try on the road.

Quins head to Bristol with ten changes to the starting XV and a further ten from the bench as Tess Braunerova replaces Ellie Green at fly-half while Charlie Wellbelove returns to the right wing in the fourteen jersey.

Speaking ahead of the weekend’s fixture, Cadogan said: “This weekend’s fixture against Bristol is an opportunity for us to put the disappointment of our narrow loss to Loughborough firmly behind us. Both the players and coaching staff were frustrated at our slow start last week that handed the momentum to the opposition, who capitalised on our mistakes.

“That said, the team showed great resilience to come back from 12-0 down at half time with two converted scores. A combination of our improved intensity at the breakdown and some superb place kicking from Ellie Green handed us back the initiative. Better game management in the final couple of minutes would have seen us come away with the win.

“We have a strong squad for our trip to Bristol and we’re excited to see Tess Braunerova starting at 10 and delighted to welcome back Charlie Wellbelove into our back three. Once again, the depth on our bench will be critical this weekend in what will be a physical battle against a determined opposition.”
