As the Tyrrells Premier 15s season reached round three, there were some intriguing results across the five games.
At Twyford Avenue, Abby Dow was among the try scorers to continue her recent scoring streak as Wasps FC Ladies recorded a comfortable [29-14] victory over Darlington Mowden Park Sharks.
The reigning champions Saracens Women were provided with a stern test as they came up against a Loughborough Lightning side who finished third last year, with just a four-point difference between the sides. It was a remarkable turnaround from Sarries who trailed 0-17 at the break and completed the comeback with a try in the last minute [24-28].
Bristol Bears Women continued their encouraging start to the season to make it two wins from three as they picked up a try bonus-point at Firwood Waterloo Ladies, and nilled them in the process [0-36].
Boosted by the return of captain Hannah Field, Richmond picked up their first win of the season with a bonus-point as they overcame Worcester Warriors Women [35-8] at the Richmond Athletic Ground.
In a replay of one of the play-off semi-finals last season, Harlequins Women hosted Gloucester-Hartpury Women but it was the hosts who proved too strong as they continued their impressive start to the season with three bonus-point wins from three [39-12].
A number of Red Roses were on the scoresheet for Quins in Leanne Riley, Shaunagh Brown (2) and on her debut Sarah Beckett.
