The FA have announced that Izzy Christiansen has undergone successful surgery on an ankle injury sustained in England’s SheBelieves Cup win over Japan on Tuesday.
Following further assessment, the Lyon midfielder had an operation on Friday afternoon.
The 27-year-old will now begin a rehabilitation programme as she aims to be fit for this summer’s World Cup finals.
Head coach Phil Neville said: “We were delighted to hear from Izzy yesterday and that her operation went well.
“We are all wishing her a speedy recovery and will be supporting her in every way we can over her rehabilitation period.”
