Worcester Valkyries centre Zoe Bennion believes her side need to cut out simple errors in order to progress ahead of this Saturday’s home game against Saracens Women in the Tyrrell’s Premier 15s (kick-off 2pm).
Valkyries suffered a 62-10 defeat to Bristol Ladies Rugby in front of a raucous crowden at Sixways last weekend and Bennion knows another tough test awaits them this Saturday.
She said: “It’s a big challenge. They are a very strong, physical side and they have young exciting backs that we need to be wary of.
“We need to focus on ourselves this week, think about our defence and also about how we can move on from Saturday’s result.”
The powerful centre scored two tries in an impressive individual performance against Bristol and knows Valkyries must turn possession and territory into points if they are to pick up their first win of the season.
She continued: “We had ample chances against Bristol to score tries and despite the result, in parts we looked like the better side but we were let down in crucial areas of the field.”
The 24-year-old admitted that there are no easy opponents in the league but knows her side need to face up to the challenges that other teams bring.
She added: “The fixtures are coming thick and fast and it won’t get any easier, so we need to wise up and challenge every side especially at home.
“We have a young group of girls at the Club and it’s important we face up to the challenge that Saracens will bring.”
Entry to Valkyries vs Saracens is FREE for Warriors Season Ticket holders and Juniors but £5 for all others.
