Bristol Ladies RFC match previews for 11 December 2016

  • +1

This Sunday both Bristol Ladies 1st XV and 2nd XV are in action in the final fixture before the Christmas break.

The 1st XV welcome Darlington Mowden Park Sharks to Cleve RFC for a 2pm KO on Sunday. The forwards remain unchanged from last weeks victory over Worcester Valkyries. Elinor Snowsill is out in Barbados playing 7s this weekend, so Megan Jones takes to #10 shirt, with Sarah Graham in at 12.

The bench sees Welsh international Caryl Thomas in the side, and Bristol Ladies are excited to welcome Amy Wilson Hardy (sponsored by Massey Cladding Solutions) in the team for the first time this season, taking our final bench slot after her trip to Dubai 7s last week. Bristol put 62 points past DMP in our trip a few months ago, and will look to build momentum after our win over Worcester last weekend.

The 2nd XV face local rivals Bath, and hope to turn the tables on the last time the team met. The teams are 3 points apart in the league, so the Bristol players will be looking to get the win and leapfrog the Bath side on Sunday. KO is 2:30pm at the Lambridge Training Ground.

The team sees a few changes from last week, with Captain Trish Brown out with a shoulder injury, Sydney Gregson takes the mantle, on her first start in a Bristol shirt since her return from injury. Students Hester Stembridge and Lucy Attwood are back in the fold after their performances last week, with Lucy Herring and Steph Jones in the second row.
