The Rio Olympics may only just have finished, but the modern pentathlon season continues to roll on, starting with this week’s 2016 Modern Pentathlon Under 17 European Championships.
Pentathlon GB are delighted to be hosting the event at Tudor Grange Leisure Centre in Solihull this bank holiday weekend (Aug 27 & Aug 29).
Nearly 100 athletes from 17 countries across the continent will take part at the event.
This competition is free for spectators to come and watch and provides a unique opportunity to watch potential future Olympians in action.
The event will be a modern triathlon (swim followed by combined run/shoot) with the individual competitions taking place on Saturday 27th August and the Boys’, Girls’ and Mixed Relays on Monday 29th August.

About the Modern Pentathlon
- Modern pentathlon sees athletes compete in five disciplines – fencing, swimming, riding and a combined run and shoot all in one day.
- At Rio 2016 Olympics Kate French, Samantha Murray, Joe Choong and Jamie Cooke represented Great Britain they finished 6th, 9th, 10th and 14th respectively.
