Durham Women FC have announced the launch of their ‘Kit Your Class Out’ programme, aimed at supporting local primary schools by providing sports equipment.
In return for attending their FA Women’s Super League home games, primary schools will receive up to £600 in sports equipment from the club and their partners.
Launched in the build up to with Girls’ Football Week, the programme will allow six primary schools in the local area to earn football equipment ranging in value from £250 to £600, depending on their attendance at Durham FA WSL games.
Schools will be able to receive free child tickets for three of the remaining home games and, should at least 50 people (pupils, parents and staff) attend, they will be able to claim £250 worth of equipment.
Should more pupils attend then additional funding will be released, with 75 attendees per game giving £400 and 100 each game giving schools the full £600 of equipment.
When attending the games, pupils from the schools will be able to play an active part in the match day experience as mascots and ball girls.
Players from the club will also attend each school to speak in assemblies and deliver coaching sessions.
The Wildcats are working with club partners Vision for Education Hummel UK to deliver this scheme, with the club’s kit provider providing some of the technical equipment.

“We are always keen to engage with the local community, and we believe this is a great way to help local schools while also increasing interest in ourselves and the FA WSL.
“Hopefully the programme will benefit all involved, with the club seeing increased attendances while the schools will receive sporting equipment.
