Yeovil Town Ladies first team player Helen Bleazard has signed a contract to keep her at the club for the fast approaching 2016 season.

Bleazard, who was voted as 2015’s players player of the year, also picked up supporters player of the year, along with the Jones Building main sponsors player of the year, following a successful season with the lady glovers.  She played in a range of different positions due to her versatility, scored 4 goals, but more importantly, made an appearance in all 18 league games, all 5 Continental Tyres Cup matches, along with making a great impact in the SSE FA Women’s Cup games.

Also a regular Welsh Senior International, Bleazard, is also a focal point in the club’s eyes, where she is also the Youth and Community Officer, responsible for ensuring that the youth section of the club is a thriving area.

Speaking about her new contract, Bleazard said “I’m delighted to have resigned for the upcoming season at Yeovil.”

“Last season was very successful for the club and I’m looking forward to starting pre-season training again with the girls and push for promotion this season.  The staff, players and supporters at this club are fantastic and I’m looking forward to the season ahead.”

Manager Jamie Sherwood was equally as happy and said: “To have Blez on our playing roster for next season is a significant signing. Last season she showed her versatility, quality and dedication to the club and she was rewarded in every aspect at our awards evening.”

“2016 will be another step in our pursuit for the promised land of Women’s Super League One and Blez is integral to that push, drive and focus that will define us all at the club.”

“Blez has really developed into a player that is capable of pushing this club forward on many levels. Her commitment to the club is unquestionable and having Blez at our club will always mean us striving to achieve more.”
