  • +1

Sharks met Worcester on Sunday the 13th December 2015 at Harton Technology Centre at South Shields.

Sharks got the game underway the ball was retained from the kick off, but great pressure from Worcester forwards meant that possession was lost.

Sharks soaked up the pressure but it couldn’t last as Worcester forwards marched over the line on 6 minutes for Rocky Clarke to score (converted) making the score sharks 0 Worcester 7.

Unfortunately Sharks talisman Ruth Nash suffered an ankle injury and had to leave the field.

Sharks responded and managed to keep Worcester at bay until the 25th minute when Worcester’s Sian Williams crossed the line (not converted) leaving the score Sharks 0 Worcester 12.

Sharks again responded with some excellent defence and it looked like they would make it to half time without conceding again, but Worcester’s Ceri Large had other ideas and great footwork and speed saw her round the defence to score on 40 minutes (converted) leaving the half time score Sharks 0 Worcester 19.

Worcester got the second half underway and immediately put Sharks under pressure Sharks responded but Worcester’s forwards were too strong and Rocky Clarke scored her second of the day not converted leaving the score Sharks 0 Worcester 24.

On 56 mins Worcester’s Zoe Bannion crossed the line which was converted leaving the score Sharks 0 Worcester 31.

The game got away from Sharks when a yellow card was shown to Sharks Captain George Roberts and Worcester capitalised on the extra numbers when Worcester’s Rachel Lund crossed the line not converted leaving the score on 60 minutes Sharks 0 Worcester 36.

Sharks troubles increased when Tamara Taylor went off injured, Worcester crossed the line again three times before the final whistle with Ceri Large adding the extras to one.  A clinical finish by Worcester to end a tough game.
