* Bristol Ladies have put out the following statement:
Bristol Ladies have decided to withdraw the 2nd XV from the Championship with immediate effect. After failing to field a full 2nd XV squad for the third fixture this season, the coaches and board came together to re-evaluate the clubs aims and values in relation to this.
The decision to withdraw the 2nd XV was based around player welfare – the lack of substitutions for both 1st and 2nd XV has meant players were unable to be replaced when required. The aims of the club were also considered, as Bristol Ladies strives to be a place for aspirational players to grow and develop. This aim was not being met due to the focus on having to field two teams, rather than allowing those ambitious players to develop on the 1st XV bench and fight for 1st XV places.
