In an exciting last day of the WSL1 football season, Chelsea Ladies did more than hold their nerve as they ran out convincing victors against Sunderland Ladies, winning by 4-0. Ji So-Yun opened the scoring, Fran Kirby (pictured above in Reading colours) added two more and Gemma Davison rounded it off with the fourth. After the disappointment of last season, Chelsea made sure there were no slip ups.
Meanwhile, Manchester City Women finished the season in second place with their 2-1 win over Notts County Ladies, which means both City and Chelsea qualify for Champions League football next season.
In the WSL2 the Belles kept the heat on Reading by beating Oxford United 3-0 last evening, promotion may be in the bag, but both teams would like top spot. Undeterred Reading Women put four past the Millwall Lionesses today. Yeovil Ladies seem to have stuttered a little in their campaign and lose third spot to Everton who demolished the London Bees 7-1. In the other game Durham Women put four past Watford Ladies.
