Notts County continue their unbeaten run in Conti Cup

  • +1

Notts County continued their 100 per cent record in the WSL Continental Cup with an emphatic 5-0 win at home to Yeovil Town Ladies.

England’s Ellen White scored twice at Meadow Lane and there were also goals for Alex Greenwood, Rachel Williams and Ashleigh Plumptre – her first goal for the club.

The 5-0 win means Notts County progress having scored 19 goals and conceded just twice in their five Continental Cup games so far.

Yeovil’s energy frustrated Notts County in the early stages and the Glovers could have taken the lead when Alys Hinchcliffe who could only poked narrowly wide.

The Ladypies didn’t look back, as Ellen White slotted home on the half an hour mark to give the home side the lead.

White could have ended up with a hat-trick as she headed against the crossbar soon after.

The home side did add a second when Alex Greenwood continued her run forward and found the bottom corner and it was nearly three when Plumptre hit the post.

County’s quality continued to shine in the second half and Williams added their third from the edge of the box with a neat turn and finish.

Plumptre added a fourth with 20 minutes remaining when she found herself with acres of space in the box and White finish off the scoring by turning in Jess Clarke’s cross.

County will now face Reading at home in the Quarter Finals.
