Premier League Round Up
Selby Warriors welcomed Stanningley ladies this Sunday at it was the travelling side who battled to a 54-12 win. Stanningley’s Vicky Pinks led the way with an impressive four tries and there were a further two tries for Sarah Dunn and Sarah Lovejoy. Sophie Robinson scored once and there was one try and seven goals for Tasha Gaines. Selby, to their credit worked hard throughout and scored two tries, one from Meg Summers and one for Claire Raynard. Meg Summers and Yas Copeland both added one successful conversion each.
Bradford Thunderbirds were away at Oulton Raidettes and the travelling side worked hard to gain a 46-4 win.
Leigh Miners Rangers welcomed West Craven Warriors and the home side produced a superb performance to win 70-0. Georgia Sutherland led the way with a hat-rick of tries and there were two tries each for Niomh Gill-Ward and Rachel Ogden. Further tries for Leigh Miners came from Rhian Boag, Samantha Jolley, Megan Eastwood, Nicolette Postlethwaite and Kelly Morris, Morris also earned the player of the match award. Leigh’s Emily Mullen completed the scoring for the afternoon with an impressive eleven successful conversions out of a possible twelve.
Thatto Heath St Helens were at home to Featherstone Rovers and in an entertaining game it was the visiting side who earned a 34-16 win. For the winners, Featherstone’s Andrea Dobson crossed for three tries, with further tries for Alex Wallace, Gemma Walsh and Hannah Bairstow. Featherstone’s Katie Cooper-Birkenhead converted five goals. Thatto’s tries came from Tara Stanley, Faye Gaskin and Tara Jones, with Stanley also adding two goals.
