Despite half centuries for Tammy Beaumont and Fran Wilson, England Women’s Academy fell to a 15 run defeat by Australia on Sunday in an Ashes warm up match. The EWA team were chasing a target of 250 which had been set by Australia with Ellyse Perry scoring 93 and Elyse Villani with 49, but finished their 50 overs on 234 for nine. A disappointing result for the team to get so close but they will take heart from pushing this talented Australian team so hard.
