June is an exciting time for our female boxers with the following events taking place:
‘Just for Girls’ Boxing Show. An all female boxing tournament will take place on 6th June 2015 in the Territorial Army Centre, Grove Park, London. The ‘London Diamonds’ will box against the ‘South of England’ squad including matches between junior, youth and senior boxers and boasting over 20 bouts on the bill.
Haringey Box Cup, Alexandra Palace, London 19 – 21st June 2015. A key event in the boxing calendar, the Haringey Box Cup is one of the largest Open boxing tournaments in Europe. The Box Cup caters for male and female Youth and Elite boxers over a three day period. The tournament has attracted over 100 female entries from clubs across Europe and promises to be a cracker of an event.
European Games, Baku, Azerbaijan 12 – 28 June 2015 Four female boxers have qualified for the inaugural European Games to be held in Baku in June. Olympic and Commonwealth Gold Medallist Nicola Adams (51kg), World and European Silver Medallist Lisa Whiteside (54kg), World Silver Medallist Sandy Ryan (64kg) and former world champion and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Savannah Marshall (75kg) will all be in action in Azerbaijan.
