England Hockey and the European Hockey Federation are delighted to announce that online gambling operator Unibet has signed an agreement to become Title Sponsor of the EuroHockey Championships 2015, which will be staged in London on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park between 21 and 30 August.
Unibet, a founding member of the European Gaming & Betting Association and with over 17 years’ experience, offers sports betting games, bingo and poker to over 9.7 million registered customers in more than 100 countries. Its sponsorship will help England Hockey deliver a world-class event experience for spectators, athletes and volunteers, whilst enabling the event to be showcased in the best possible light to a 100 million-strong European TV audience.
The Unibet EuroHockey Championships 2015 comprises 40 matches over 10 days at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, with the women’s and men’s Champions crowned over the weekend of 29 and 30 August. It promises to be a fiercely contested tournament with Germany looking to defend both titles.
The demand to watch the international stars in action back on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has been high and as a result England Hockey has announced plans to increase the size of the stadium. These additional tickets will be released on 27 April for existing bookers, and on 1 May to the general public. Aside from breathtaking sport, spectators will enjoy a great, family day out with all that Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the event’s Hockey FanZone has to offer.
If you are unable to enjoy the event in person, it will be broadcast across Europe with national terrestrial TV coverage in the UK, and via major broadcasters in European countries. Over 100 million viewers are expected to tune into the coverage.
Chair of the Unibet EuroHockey Championships 2015 Organising Committee, Andy Tapley, said “we are delighted that Unibet has come on board as Title Sponsor of the forthcoming EuroHockey Championships.
