In a hard fought and low scoring Quarter Final match, England were beaten by France by 5 – 7. It was a tense and physical but overall disappointing battle and England bow out of the Cup competition. At half time they trailed 7 – 0 but despite a score from Jo Watmore to bring the score to 7 – 5 they were unable to break through the French defence and add to their tally.
However, it is not over for England and they go into the Plate competition against Russia at 10.16 (GMT). Lots of pride to play for now and Russia will be tough to beat so its another big game.
