Glamorgan women vs Northamptonshire Steelbacks women (match 42, league two) at Sophia Gardens Cardiff, on Saturday 30 August 2025 (10h30)

Rain-affected semi-final ‘dress-rehearsal’ that was washed-out mid-way, without result. Star batter Michaela Kirk [54 runs (from 71 balls) made top-score for Steelbacks women, with three Glamorgan womens’ bowlers taking two wickets each: Katy Cobb 2/18; Ellie Anderson 2/21 and Nicole Reid 2/38. Heavy rain stopped play at-the-stroke of 1pm. Allowing for ninety minutes after lunch (i.e.: until 3:30pm) with intermittent heavy showers, Umpires had no appetite to continue. Play was called-off for adverse weather with no result. Considering that Glamorgan women had finished their group stage second only to Middx, they played their semi-final fixture at home – on Saturday 6 September. Commentators Ashleigh Crowter (commentator, BBC Wales & lecturer in Journalism at Cardiff University) and guest Alan Wilkins (President Glamorgan CC, broadcaster, former player) both thought that was advantageous to the Glamorgan women’s team – Head Coach Rachel Priest – pictured.Weather: rain stopped play 18C.
