Warwickshire (women)  vs Surrey (women) – match 40 – League One – at Birmingham, Edgbaston Foundation Ground (Portland Road) on Wesnesday 30 July 2025 <CAPSEY>

Setting the scene, just three days ago Surrey women lifted the inaugural Vitality Blast trophy at their resident Kia Oval, defeating Warwickshire Bears in the final. In contrast, Warwickshire women came with five back-to-back defeats, in addition to Sunday’s defeat as ‘Bears;’ and were said to be ‘languishing’ in seventh place with five matches remaining. On the day, Surrey women seamers Alice Monaghan (3-fer: 3/48) and Ryana Macdonald-Gay (4fer: 4/47) reduced Warwicks women to 32/5 during their seventh over of ‘power—play.’ Davina Perrin [113runs (from 125 balls]] staged a century partnership recovery with Nat Wraith [47(from 49).] ‘Bears leading run-scorer’ Davina Perrin went on to score her maiden professional ‘list A’ century: please see highlights video below. Turning to Surrey women’s innings, top-scorer Alice Capsey – pictured [79 runs (from 73 balls)] batted through a century second-wicket partnership shared firstly with skipper Smith (until adversely affected by muscular strain after hitting ‘six’); followed by Paige Scholfield.
