Middlesex Women vs Kent Women at Radlett, Brunton Memorial Ground (Herts) on Sunday 20 April 2025 (10h30)
Bowling with stump-to-stump precision, Middx Seamer Gayatri Gole made history as the first bowler in either tier of the competition to take six wickets at the very first opportunity. Her ‘6-fer,’ conceded just thirty runs. Drama struck as Gayatri Gole paired with fellow seamer Katie Wolfe (who took a 3-fer) reduced their opponents to 46/9 after 13 overs. Face-saving last-wicket stand between skipper Megan Belt and keeper Molly Davis brought Kent’s nightmare innings to a close. All-but-one Kent batter had been sent back-to-the-hutch for single-figures. By comparison, Middx’s innings was without any such drama. After two wickets fell, Skipper Saskia Horley played sensibly, enabling Issy Routledge to retain strike and hit the winning ‘single’ to conclude Middx eight wicket’s win. Weather cool 13C.
