Harlequins have announced that Red Roses centre Lagi Tuima has signed a new multi-year contract with the Club.

Tuima joined Quins in 2019 from Bristol Bears and has since made 56 appearances. A hard-running centre with great hands and a strong kicking game, Tuima played a key role in the 2020/21 Allianz Premier 15s Final, slotting five penalties as Quins beat Saracens 25-17.

Testament to her durability, Tuima started all 18 league matches for Quins in 2022/23, switching between inside and outside centre, and scoring 70 points.

Her Red Roses debut came against Wales in the 2018 Six Nations. Since then, she has achieved 15 Test caps, winning the Six Nations with the Red Roses in 2021 and the Grand Slam in 2022 and 2023.

Commenting on her renewal, Tuima said: “I’m grateful for another season in the Famous Quarters. This is a special place and I’m looking forward to seeing where we can take it next season. I’m proud to be a part of this Club and can’t wait to get going with this group.”

Harlequins Women Technical Director Brent Janse van Rensburg, said: “Lagi has been one of our standout performers this season. Her skill set is second-to-none and she epitomises what this Club is all about in her approach to the game and style of play. She has also demonstrated a very reliable boot when kicking for goal. Off the pitch she is a humble and caring human, and her energy is infectious, she elevates everyone around her and we’re excited to see where she can take the shirt over the coming season.”

Tuima’s re-signing follows the confirmation of new contracts for Red Roses Lucy Packer, Ellie Kildunne and Emily Scott, Scottish duo Jade Konkel and Sarah Bonar, and exciting talent Beth Wilcock, Rosie Dobson, Izzy Mayhew and Freya Aucken.

Further announcements are scheduled over the coming weeks which will continue to underline the Club’s plan to develop the strongest women’s programme in the Northern Hemisphere.
