Foxes chalked-up their fourth competition win to date: their first under Lucy Western, standing-in for skipper Becki Brooker – pictured. Gloucs women still waiting to open their account, albeit having beaten Foxes women at least once, last season. Batting first for Gloucs women, Becca Halliday 55(69) posted ‘fifty,’ moments after a productive 61-run opening partnership with Meg Ahearne. Partnered by debutante Lissy MacLeod 57(62) who also scored ‘fifty,’ Gloucs second-wicket partnership posted 43. Lissy MacLeod partnered by Chloe Brewer added another productive partnership of 62-runs. Two Foxes bowlers took three wickets each (Ellie M Phillips 3/35; Faith Teekasingh 3/49.) Turning to Foxes womens’ reply, Ellen Watson & Caitlin Chissell turned the game around with a century sixth-wicket partnership banking 116 runs for Foxes, until nudged to victory by a gifted ‘wide.’ Best Gloucs bowler was Charlotte R ‘Charlie’ Phillips who took a 3-fer: conceding 45 runs.
