‘Metro Bank’ One Day Cup League One Semi final 2 Hants vs Surrey

  • +1

Hampshire (women) vs Surrey (women) – league one, match 58 – at The Utilita Bowl Stadium Southampton, on Wednesday 17 September 2025 .. floodlights

Victorious Hampshire women made a ‘fine performance’ in ‘miserable weather’ to qualify for the inaugural ‘Metro Bank’ One Day Cup final at home to Lancs women on Sunday 21st. Commentators lauded both sides for a ‘game with ‘everything,’ played for the latter-part in light drizzle, under floodlights. Earlier, Surrey women were bowled-out for a defendable score, shy of 300. All six Hants women bowlers took wickets. Freya Davis took 4-fer (taking 4 wickets/conceding 39 runs.) Commentators added that Surrey women ‘let things slide,’ when dropping at least three catches. That put the Hants women well-ahead in case the match was prematurely curtailed for rain. Hampshire’s skipper Georgia Adams made match-winning top-score: [107*not out runs (from 101 balls)]; partnered by Mary Taylor [60*not out runs(from 64 balls)] who scored her maiden A-list ‘fifty.’ [Previously Georgia Adams scored 110*not out versus Essex during match 22 – 11 May.] Commentators: Amelie Clark (Suffolk women) with Phil Green (Hursley Park) via Livestream and BBC Sound – Radio Solent.
