Laura Jackson is set to leave Somerset at the conclusion of the 2025 season.

The 27-year-old signed a season-long contract with the Club in January following a successful trial.

During 2025, she represented Somerset on six occasions in List A cricket, taking five wickets with a best of two for 12 in Somerset’s victory over Essex at Taunton Vale Sports Club. She also scored 50 runs with a best of 29 against Durham.

Regarding her time with the Club, Laura said: “I’ve loved being here. My teammates, the staff and the people of Taunton have all been great. I’ve had a great time and the South West is a lovely place to be. It’s sad but everything has to come to an end.

“It was amazing to be a part of the first professional Somerset team. I’m happy I got to experience that and be a part of it and it’s something that I’ll always remember.

“I’d like to thank the Members and supporters for cheering on a northerner and making me feel so welcome.”

Somerset CCC Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry said: “We would like to thank Laura for her dedication, commitment and enthusiasm during her time with us. She has been an important member of the dressing room both on and off the field this summer and we wish her well.”

With thanks to Somerset CCC
