  • +1

Gloucestershire (women) v Kent Horses (women) (match 12-L2) – stand alone fixture at Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol  on Sunday 15 June

Horses women openers banked 62 runs in their first six-and-a-half overs. By comparison beyond mid-way, Spitfires’ 27-run advantage was retained, as a winning margin. Both teams suffered unfortunate dismissals (Amy Gordon for Horses, and Izzy Patel for Glos) where return-balls were deflected onto the non-striker’s stumps from bowler’s hand. Amy Gordon (pictured) made match-winning top-score [55 runs (from 32 balls)] for Horses, that included nine ‘fours’ and one ’six.’ In contrast, Bea Willis not only made ‘fifty’ [56*not out(from 59 balls)]; but also carried her bat. As fellow correspondent Bruce Perkins reported: It was hardly Willis’ fault that she couldn’t see her team over the line;’ please see below.
