Harlequins have confirmed that wing Lauren Torley has extended her contract with the Club.
The GB Sevens player joined Quins from DMP Sharks ahead of the 2022/23 season, making 11 appearances in her debut campaign and scoring five tries.
Renowned for her speed and versatility, Torley has been a consistent performer on the World Rugby Sevens circuit, earning selection in the England Sevens squad for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens. The 24-year-old recently helped GB Sevens secure qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics, defeating Poland 33-0 in the European Games Final.
Commenting on her new contract, Torley said: “I loved my first season at Quins. I’ve learnt so much about the game and I’ve loved the culture within the squad. I cannot wait for another season in the Quarters to continue to push the boundaries alongside some brilliant athletes.”
Harlequins Women Attack and Transition Coach Ross Chisholm, added: “Lauren is a highly versatile and talented athlete. She has electric speed and is extremely dangerous with ball in hand. She’s a determined competitor who made a strong impression in her first season in Quins colours and adapted swiftly to the way we want to play. We’re excited to have her remaining at the Club and looking forward to the impact she will have next season.”
