Harlequins have named their side to face DMP Sharks

  • +1

Amy Turner’s side will run out at The Stoop on Sunday for the final time this campaign, as they look to finish the season on a high following last weekend’s defeat to Gloucester-Hartpury.

Following the announcement of her retirement this week, Harlequins Women’s most capped player Chloe Edwards is set to run out at The Stoop for the final time this weekend as she starts at prop. Elsewhere in the forwards Emily Robinson captains the team from number eight alongside Katy Mew and Wallaroo Emily Chancellor in the back-row.

In the backs, Bella McKenzie shifts inside to fly-half in the absence of Emily Scott who was issued with a three-match ban following a dangerous tackle in Sunday’s defeat to Gloucester-Hartpury. Scottish international Beth Blacklock comes into the Starting XV at 12, with Lagi Tuima at 13.

Club stalwart Davinia Catlin is named amongst the Impact Players having also announced her retirement from rugby this week after 16 seasons at the top of women’s rugby. Red Rose Bryony Cleall and French international Lenaig Corson bring a wealth of experience to the Harlequins bench and will look to impose their physicality onto the game in the later stages.

Amy Turner said “Last weekend was a difficult one for us as a team, but we’ve set our sights on finishing the season on a high and we’re hoping to kick that off with a good result against DMP on Sunday.

“It’s our last chance to run out at The Stoop this season and with a handful of departing players making their final appearance at home, it’s important we give them the send-off they deserve.”
