Harlequins have announced the signing of Red Rose Abby Dow for the 2022/23 Allianz Premier 15s season.

Dow joins Harlequins fresh from the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand where she played in all six of England’s games. Most recently starting the World Cup Final in the back three alongside fellow England International and now club teammate Ellie Kildunne.

A seasoned international, Dow earnt her first cap for England in the 2017 Old Mutual Wealth Series against Canada, where she scored five tries in her first two appearances. Her prolific try-scoring form continued, amassing over 100 points in just 30 test appearances in an England shirt.

The 25 year old began her playing career aged just five at Maidenhead RFC, before moving to Reading RFC. Dow signed for Wasps Women in 2016 and was awarded a professional contract in 2020.

Commenting, Dow said: “It has been a privilege to play for Wasps in the Black and Gold, but I leave with lifelong friends and some great memories of my time at the club.

“I’m excited to start this new chapter in my rugby career at Quins, and I looking forward to the rest of this season.”

Commenting on Dow’s signing, Harlequins Head Coach Amy Turner said “Abby is a really exciting player, who brings fantastic international experience into the side. Her try scoring form speaks for itself and we can’t wait to see what she can do in a Quins jersey.”
