Harlequins Women have announced that England international Heather Cowell has re-signed with the Club ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
The winger had a superb season last time out, topping the try scoring tally for Quins with 12 tries. The speedy back also made her England 15s debut at The Stoop against Canada in October 2021 after impressing with strong England Seven’s performances.
After showcasing her talent on the HSBC World Sevens Series circuit, Cowell recently represented Team England at the Commonwealth Games, finishing fifth after defeating neighbours Scotland in the fifth/sixth place play-off.
26-year-old Cowell was raised a stone’s throw away from The Stoop and also sat her school exams at the home of Harlequins. The speedster joined the Club from Worcester Warriors in 2018 and in her first season in South West London, finished the league’s second highest try scorer.
After putting pen to paper on a new deal at Quins, Cowell said: “I’m absolutely delighted to stay at Quins. The 2021/22 season had plenty of personal highlights, but I’m excited for what the future holds. I can’t wait for the next twelve months. Putting on the Quins shirt once again is something I’m looking forward to.”
With thanks to Harlequins
