England Women 114-4 beat South Africa 111/9 by six wickets
Katherine Brunt recorded her best IT20 figures and Sophia Dunkley made 59 as England Women won the first Vitality IT20 at Essex to confirm victory in the multi-format series against South Africa.
Brunt’s masterful 4-15 rolled back the years and restricted the visitors to 111-9. Dunkley – in a new role opening the innings – continued her fine summer to make 59 from 39 balls and help England chase the total down with five overs to spare.
England’s six-wicket win takes them to 10-2 in the multi-format series and confirms their victory. The next IT20 is at Worcester on Saturday.
