Harlequins Women Head Coach Gerard Mullen has named his matchday squad to take on Gloucester-Hartpury tomorrow afternoon in the Allianz Cup at Surrey Sports Park.
There are four changes to the starting XV that defeated DMP Durham Sharks 0-73 last time out, with England international Sarah Beckett returning after several months out of action following knee surgery over the summer.
Scotland international Sarah Bonar replaces Fi Fletcher in the second row and Heather Cowell and Ella Amory slot into the backs.
Jade Konkel and the returning Freya Aucken are named on the bench amongst the Impact Players as Harlequins look to make it two wins from two in the Cup.
Ahead of the clash, Mullen said: “This weekend we’re looking to build on what was a really positive performance against DMP Durham Sharks. We know it’s going to be a tough test tomorrow against Gloucester-Hartpury, but I’m confident that we can walk away with the win.
“I’m delighted to welcome back Sarah Bonar and Jade Konkel into the squad. They’ll both add a lot of leadership and intent on the pitch as we look to make it two wins in a row.
“Everyone at Quins is thrilled to see Sarah Beckett back in the matchday squad. She has worked so hard to get back from her injury and she will be a vital player for us going forward. The same goes for Freya Aucken, who has also returned following an unfortunate injury which she picked up in the summer.
“Gloucester-Hartpury are a side who are strong at the set piece and also have a great kicking game. They continuously look to play in the right areas of the pitch, so we will look to put a lot of pressure on them at source and on their kicking game.”
