Issy Bailey will turn her focus to her final shooting event after missing out on qualification in the P2 women’s 10m air pistol SH1.
The 27-year-old finished 18th in qualifying, her score of 468 points leaving her 89 points off the final qualification place.
Sareh Javanmardi of Iran set a new qualification Paralympic record with a score of 572, before going on to claim gold with a new world record score.
Bailey, from Cirencester, started slowly in qualification, shooting an 83 in the first round, adding scores of 88, 91, 89 and 92, before a 25 in the final round ended any hopes she had of qualifying.
The two-time Paralympian will now focus on the P3 mixed 25m pistol SH1 event, with qualification beginning on Thursday.
Bailey said: “I’ve had a tough time this year physically and mentally battling back from a shoulder injury and today I just didn’t have enough in what is such an intense sport.
“I have another match on Thursday and I look forward to the opportunity to shoot again at this beautiful range.”
