It’s here, it’s strong, it’s loud!
Mather names her team for tomorrow’s Allianz Premier 15s semi-final against Harlequins.
Rewind to October 2020 and the prospect of a full competitive season let alone a semi final seemed a long way off! Following the disappointing end to the previous season, the challenges of lockdown training and chaos amidst a global pandemic- there was a lot of uncertainty about how this season would pan out.
Fast forward to tomorrow and the black and gold army will take to the field after a highly competitive, exciting season of Rugby to face Harlequins in the semi final. Harlequins ended the season in second place above Wasps, each side has 14 wins under their belt and just a single point separated us in our last meeting – it’s set to be a fiery match!
With 646 Premier 15s caps between them, Mather has named a super side to face Harlequins.
In the forwards, West, Moloney and Muir make up your front row. With 29 tries under her belt, Muir could be set to score her 30th Premier 15s try and 100th point in a Wasps shirt.
Burnfield and Cooney make up your second row- both new to the Wasps family this season, this powerhouse duo has definitely made an impact!
Crake, Kabeya and Millar-Mills complete the pack with 160 points between them.
With a wealth of experience between them, Wong and Williams form your nine, ten combination.
After scoring her 100th point for the club last weekend, Captain Alder will run out at 12 alongside Burton who returns from GB Sevens at 13.
To complete your starting line up, Dow, Quansah and Kildunne make up your speedy back three. Dow is just 2 tries away from 50 Premier 15s tries in the Wasps Jersey.
And it doesn’t stop there, Mather has named a fiery set of finishers ready to spice up the game. Stock and Ransley form the front row replacements. Then you have the power of Monaghan and Balogan wearing 18 and 19 respectively.
Returning from injury, Molloy will bring her wealth of experience and skill alongside Mitchelson as back row replacements.
Completing the matchday squad, Mason and Edwards form your backs replacements- both hugely versatile and skilled players set to light up the field.
