Harlequins Ladies Announce Squads for Saracens Double-Header

  • +1

Quins announce an all-star side as they look for their eleventh consecutive win in the 2018/19 Tyrrells Premier 15s on Saturday.

Harlequins Ladies have the opportunity to go joint top of the table this weekend with a win against current leaders and championship holders Saracens Women. A bonus point victory will put them ahead by one point at the end of Round 14. Likewise, the Development XV can reach the summit of the Tyrrells Development League with a victory.

All seven England EPS players make the trip to North London following their return from their new year camp at Bisham Abbey on the weekend.

In the front row, England Prop Vickii Cornborough starts at loosehead alongside Davinia Catlin at Hooker and England National Academy forwards Chloe Edwards on the tighthead.

In the second row, Lock Abbie Scott starts alongside Zoe Saynor, and in the back row, Shaunagh Brown moves to her customary blindside role alongside Fiona Fletcher on the openside and Scotland International Jade Konkel at Number Eight.

In the halves, Leanne Riley starts at nine with Ellie Green at fly half. Rachael Burford captains the side from the midfield alongside Stacey White with an electric back three behind them comprising of Jess Breach, Heather Cowell and Emily Scott.

Harlequins Ladies Head Coach Gary Street said: “It’s been fantastic to have our internationals back this week to help us prepare for this crucial match.”

“Saracens are a tough, physical side and we are going to have to be at our best if we’re going to come up on top, but I believe that this group has the quality and the tenacity to go out there and get the win.”

“These are two of the best teams in women’s club rugby in this country and will showcase the very best that the domestic game has to offer.”
