On Friday Like a Girl– an exciting project by Rianne Pictures – will be released on-line.
This two-part documentary focuses on Harlow Town Ladies and Sumners Youth Football Club and features interviews with many of the players; giving a view of women’s football from an age range of 8 year olds to 25 year olds.
Independent film maker Caris Rianne, founder of Rianne Pictures, was motivated to make the film when she heard that Harlow Town had, for the first time in almost twenty years, started a women’s team. And, after an extremely successful first year, she was asking the question –“why did it take so long to bring this change about?”
The success of England’s women’s team during the World Cup has encouraged a lot of girls and women to get involved with football. This documentary is likely to encourage even more participation.
You can see a teaser trailer of Like a Girl here while we eagerly await the whole documentary, both episodes of which will be released on-line on Friday 13 January.
Caris Rianne formed Rianne Pictures in 2013. After attending film classes at Raindance London she wanted to create a hub for her projects and a place where people could collaborate regardless of their experience and backgrounds.
