The charity aims to create new opportunities for young people to access the sport, igniting undiscovered passions, developing vital skills and uniting diverse groups. From the playground to the podium, Hockey Futures hopes that more hockey dreams can come true.

The great and the good were out in force at the Pavilion at the Tower of London, with more than 400 people from the world of sport, TV and business present at the Golden Hockey Ball. The Countess of Wessex, Patron of England Hockey was in attendance as Colin Murray hosted a packed room including our women’s and men’s athletes, Sam Quek straight off the plane from ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, Olympians Katherine Grainger & Matthew Pinsent and Rugby World Cup winner Neil Back.

gbball3To round off the show, BBC’s Gareth Malone led the London Youth Choir and our athletes in a rousing rendition of O Come All Ye Faithful from his new Christmas album!

It is an exciting time to be involved in hockey with interest in the sport at an all-time high and England hosting the Men’s World League next summer, followed by the Women’s World Cup in 2018. JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and BT Sport were amongst the businesses that attended the event with Barclays donating their table to British Breast Cancer.
