Three Chelsea players have been shortlisted for this year’s Women’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.
England’s Gemma Davison (right), goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl and last year’s winner Ji So-Yun (above) have all been nominated for the award after their double-winning season.
Manchester City and England midfielder Izzy Christiansen and England U23s and Sunderland striker Beth Mead, who was last year’s FA WSL top goalscorer, complete the shortlist.
In the Young Player of the Year category, five England players have been shortlisted. Arsenal forward Danielle Carter, who scored a hat trick on her England Senior debut in Estonia last September appears, alongside Beth Mead – the only player to be nominated in both categories.
Manchester City’s Nikita Parris, who received her first England Senior call up last week for the squad to play Bosnia & Herzegovina and her team mate Keira Walsh (England U19) also make the shortlist along with Chelsea and England U23s Hannah Blundell.
Update – 24 April 2016
At the 43rd PFA Awards ceremony on Sunday April 24 2016 Beth Mead of Sunderland was named PFA Young Player of the Year.
