Yeovil Town Ladies have signed Nadia Lawrence on a one year deal.
Lawrence will be playing in the green and white hoops at Huish Park this season, having moved from last years relegated side Bristol Academy, now known as City.  She made a total of 17 appearances in the 2015 season, which included a single goal.

The tricky attacking player, once played in Iceland for IBV and has also made a total of 16 appearances for her Welsh international side.

Lawrence signs at a time of real excitement and progression for the Somerset side, with news of home matches being played at Huish Park. With some new signings announced recently, Lawrence is another signing that will only boost manager Jamie Sherwood’s squad, as they search for a top two finish and promotion to the promised land of Women’s Super League one.

Speaking about the news of Nadia Lawrence signing, Jamie Sherwood said “To be working with Nadia again is yet another exciting prospect after our time together with Cardiff City.”

“I know she is capable of delivering creativity and quality in the attacking half of the pitch.”

“Nadia is a player who can play as a centre forward stretching defenses, she can play as a wide player causing full backs a torrid time in 1v1 battles and watching her since her return in the number ten position finding pockets to cause problems to the opposition.”

“She adds great competition, versatility and more importantly added fire power to the squad that was not far behind last season.”

“Her character, teamwork and selflessness has seen her settle into our group well and I believe we will see her flourish in our environment.”

Lawrence commented and said “I look forward to the season ahead and continuing my development with Yeovil.”

“I have worked under Jamie Sherwood at Cardiff City before and feel I can continue improving under him and the rest of the coaching team. I have enjoyed the training and team environment so far and am sure I will continue to.”

“It’s important I make the most of this season in achieving my own personal aims as a player and more importantly, I know Yeovil’s main aim is to achieve promotion and I will give everything I have in training and on the pitch to help the team achieve just that.”

Yeovil are in action on Sunday 7th February when they face Bradford City in round three of the SSE FA Women’s Cup. The game is to be played at Sherborne Town FC, before the FAWSL season commences in March, with games then being switched to Huish Park. Season tickets are on sale and more information can be found here.
