Sussex Cricket in the Community are delighted to announce that they will be hosting a LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Festival on Saturday 15th August, between 10am and 2pm at The BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground, Hove.
They will be presenting a 6 a-side, mixed softball tournament, which in its simplest form is ‘Kwik Cricket’, so no cricket experience is needed.
Currently, seven teams have already entered to play in the festival, and it is free to submit a team.
Head of Sussex Cricket in the Community, Tim Shutt, said: “A key part of the Sussex Cricket in the Community strategy is to provide inclusive opportunities for all and here is another example of where this is the case.
“Sussex has a large LGBT Community and we are very much looking forward to welcoming new faces to Hove for an enjoyable afternoon.”
The Graces Cricket Club, the only gay cricket club in the country, will also be present.
Along with the softball tournament there will also be a BBQ and drinks at the bar available, with everyone welcome to attend.
If you would like to enter a team or simply attend the festival, or require more information then please contact Sussex’s CSR & Partnerships Manager Faye Russell via firstname.lastname@example.org
