The Rugby Players’ Association has announced The Sunday Times is to renew its partnership as the Official Newspaper of the RPA. As part of the renewed agreement, The Sunday Times will continue to sponsor the England Women’s Player of the Year Award at the RPA Players’ Awards, on Wednesday 13th May at Battersea Evolution, London.
The Sunday Times has been a partner of the RPA for more than five years and prior to sponsoring the England Women’s Player of the Year Award they presented the Sunday Times Try of the Year at the RPA Players’ Awards.
Alex Butler, the newspaper’s Sports Editor, will present the England Women’s Player of the Year Award, which was previously won by Rachael Burford, the first player to have been elected to represent women’s professional rugby on the RPA Players’ Board.
On the new partnership Alex Butler said: “We have always seen rugby to be a crucial part of our sports coverage and our partnership with the RPA has been hugely rewarding.”
