  • +1

Yorkshire (women) vs Warwickshire (women) – match 36 – League One –  at Scarborough Cricket Club, North Marine Rd, Scarborough; on Saturday 16 May 2026

Warwickshire Bears bowled-out their hosts, lost three fewer wickets and two more batters made ‘double-figures.’ Both innings followed a similar pattern until mid-way, by which point Yorks women were 20 runs ahead. Batting first, Yorks women’s guest Australian Jess Jonassen [110(from 102 balls)] scored her third century this season – at 50 ov. (previously scoring ’tons’ vs. Lancs women on 25 April; and Durham Cricket on 29 April.) Also as best bowler, Jess Jonassen bagged a 3-fer (3 wickets/conceding 32 runs.) In contrast, a ‘crucial’ 93-run partnership rescued Bears from 85/4. Best batter Chloe Brewer scored ‘fifty’ 56(62); partnered by Abbey Freeborn 36(51.) Bears tail-enders just needed to score at one-run-a-ball. Having added 21 runs in partnership with Nat Wraith, Mary Taylor – pictured left staged a match-winning 23-runs partnership with skipper Georgia Davis. Mary Taylor hit the winning ‘four.’ Separately, when bowling, both players also took a combined total of five wickets (Georgia Davis 3/43; Mary Taylor 2/52.) Commentators for Yorks Cricket Live Stream were Mike McCann (Sports journalist) with Dr Jane Powell (Performance Manager England Disability Cricket at ECB; & President at Yorkshire CCC); and guests.  Weather: ‘overcast’ with cloud cover 12C.
