  • +1

Glamorgan  (women) vs Middlesex (women) (match 39, L2 Final) at Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol on Sunday 20 September 2026

Tables were turned on Glamorgan women who’d previously lifted  ‘League Two’s Vitality Blast (20ov) trophy on Welsh soil. Middlesex women were led to victory ‘in style,’ by skipper Saskia Horley – pictured – who received POTM for her career-best ‘List A’ ton: 117; also best bowler taking 4 wickets/conceding 28 runs. All Middx womens’ batters scored into double-figures. Highlights were A) fourth-wicket stand of 131-runs between Saskia Horley and Finty Trussler; and B) 61-run second-wicket stand between Pippa Sproul and Issy Routledge. Glamorgan women fought a ‘monumental’ run-chase: a carbon-copy of their ‘dress rehearsal’ match on 6 September. Commentators included Michael ‘Mike’ McCann (Sports journalist) and Melissa Story (BBC Sport and Gloucestershire women) with Rosa Simkins and guest from Centre for Community Journalism C4CJ at Cardiff University, in partnership with BBC Wales. Awards and medals were presented by Neil Priscott (CEO at Gloucestershire Cricket as hosts for the Bristol stadium.) Separately, Glamorgan women will reportedly turn professional, next season. Middx women can expect to follow suit in August 2028. Weather: overcast, dry 16C.
