Red Roses squad for home leg of WXV Global Series

  • +1

Red Roses head coach John Mitchell has named his 36-player squad for the home leg of the WXV Global Series.

Led by captain Megan Jones, the squad contains a combined 1,234 international caps and includes 25 players who featured in the 2025 Rugby World Cup triumph.

England spent the first three weeks of pre-season based at the University of Nottingham before returning to London at The Lensbury to prepare for the first match against Australia at CorpAcq Stadium on Saturday 12 September.

A World Cup repeat with Canada is set to take place at Sandy Park, Exeter, a week later before a mouth-watering encounter against New Zealand at Allianz Stadium in front of over 50,000 spectators.

Mitchell said: “It’s been a positive pre-season in the way we have trained and the exposure we have given to players. The girls have worked hard to elevate their connections, making us stronger, and have driven high standards.

“We have trained above the game level with great intensity and now we have an opportunity to excite ourselves, and the country, by the way we play rugby in three Test matches across the country.

“This squad is only four weeks old; there is plenty in the tank. This is an exciting period to get after.”

Tickets remain on sale for the games in Salford and Exeter, while there is still an opportunity to join over 50,000 people at Allianz Stadium for the match with the Black Ferns. Supporters can purchase tickets from englandrugby.com/tickets.

All three of the Red Roses’ home WXV Global Series matches will be shown live on England Rugby’s YouTube channel and BBC iPlayer.
