Yorkshire vs (White Rose) (women) vs Somerset (women) – match 60 – League One – at Headingley Leeds, on Thursday 03 September 2026
Somerset women’s fourth back-to-back win places them ‘in a stronger position’ to qualify in third-place for the up-coming Eliminator fixture. Commentators described an ‘absolute thriller’ that left Dr Jane Powell (Yorks Cricket President on commentary) ‘lost for words.’ Somerset women were lauded for ‘never giving-up,’ even when perceiving almost certain defeat as White Rose women were reportedly ‘coasting’ (to victory.) Summing-up, commentators agreed that Ami Campbell’s [35runs (from 17 balls)] innings was the deciding factor, having made top-score to bring White Rose within ten runs of victory. No one could have predicted an ‘unprecedented batting collapse’ that followed her departure, as ‘five remaining wickets fell for four runs’; handing victory to the visitors. Commentators for Yorks Cricket Live Stream were Mike McCann (Sports journalist) with Aaron Viles (Cricketfanaticsmag.com) and Dr Jane Powell (Performance Manager England Disability Cricket at ECB; & President at Yorkshire CCC); Weather: white clouds turned to grey, with inclement weather forecast late afternoon 17C.
