Harlequins Women are pleased to confirm that back-row duo Amelia Kolev and Lauren Brooks have committed to the Quarters ahead of the 26-27 season.

Back-row Brooks has made 54 appearances for the Club and played her part in the PWR Cup side that reached the final this season. An experienced figure within the playing group, Brooks has also shone again this season for the British Army.

Brooks is excited to be staying in TW2 and is looking forward to playing her part in the development of a young and talented squad.

“Being a part of this club is something that gives me immense pride and I’ve made some great memories during my time here. As we look ahead to the 26-27 season, I’m really excited to see the new talent coming through the pipeline and excited about how we can continue to build.”

Back-row and England international Amelia Kolev made her Harlequins comeback against Leicester Tigers in December, marking her first appearance for the Club since giving birth to her son. She has made 28 appearances in the Quarters and is a hugely destructive back-row, with a massive presence around the park.

After confirming she had extended her stay at the Club, Kolev said: “I am really excited to have re-signed with Quins. I’m really grateful to continue being part of such a special Club and environment. I’m looking forward to pushing myself, growing as a player, and enjoying another season alongside a great group of women.”

Head Coach Ross Chisholm added: “We’re pleased that Lauren and Amelia have committed their futures to Harlequins ahead of next season. They both bring real experience to the squad and help drive standards around the Club.”

“It’s been incredible to see Amelia’s journey back to playing after giving birth last year. She has been so impressive in her work rate and desire on and off the pitch. Lauren has also been an important member of the squad over the last few seasons and is an crucial part of driving standards within the group.”
