Somerset women vs Hampshire Hawks women (match 29) at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton on 19 June (14h00) 

Somerset women fell ‘agonisingly short’ of their first Vitality Blast victory. Hawks openers Maia Bouchier partnered by Charli Knott (due to return to Australia) banked 80 for Hawks first wicket. Freya Kemp [65*not out (from 38 balls) ] made career-best for t20. Partnered by skipper Adams, the pair added 49 toward an ‘above-par’ score. Somerset’s run-chase fell behind after 6 overs ‘power-play’ [35/2 (vs 51/0).]  The match reached its climax during the eighteenth over, when Niamh Holland [60 (from 53 balls)] made career-best for t20; partnered by guest Australian Amanda-Jade Wellington. Needing 25 for victory from two overs remaining, Hawks skipper brought herself on to bowl the death-over, taking two wickets and leaving Somerset five runs short.
